Al Franken appears to be the next U.S. senator from the wacky land of Minnesota. (It is the same state, after all, that can boast Jesse "The Body" Ventura as a past governor.)
Franken appears to have bested incumbent Senator Norm Coleman by 225 votes out of 2.9 million cast. It's another great example for the every-vote-counts file.
An aside: Boo to NBC's lawyers. I can't find a single clip on-line of the old SNL broadcasts featuring Stuart Smalley.
