Chorus Angelorum Te Suscipiat

On Thursday afternoon, at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, 13 people were killed and some 30 others were wounded in a senseless shooting spree.

I dedicate this week's "YouTube clip for a peaceful weekend" to the victims and their families.

Below are two settings from the beginning (first clip) and end (second clip) of the Requiem Mass.

Pax:

"Rest eternal grant them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine on them.
To thee praise is due, O God, in Zion,
and to thee vows are recited in Jerusalem.
Hear my prayer;
unto thee all flesh shall come."

"May the angels lead you into paradise,
may the martyrs receive you
in your coming,
and may they guide you
into the holy city, Jerusalem.
May the chorus of angels receive you
and with Lazarus once poor
may you have eternal rest."

The translations above are from here.

It is tragic and I add my prayers as well. My nephew is based at Ft. Hood but is in Iraq... His wife and kids were there. They were all told to get in the house and lock the doors and stay down. They are ok but shaken. Prayers for all who were impacted by this terrible moment in time.
